Rumour: Manchester United prepare £30m bid for Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas: Will he make a return to the EPL?

Manchester are readying a bid of £30 million for Spaniard Cesc Fabregas this summer as new manager Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his weakened side, according to the Metro.

The Spanish international joined the Catalan giants in the summer of 2011 from Arsenal and has performed well during his time at the former La Liga champions. However, this season has been deemed a failure by many after Barcelona were left trophy-less following their Copa Del Rey final loss to rivals Real Madrid and being pipped to the title by Atletico Madrid.

Fabregas, now 27-years-old, has been tipped to leave Barcelona along with many others this summer and after Louis van Gaal took over as Manchester United boss, it is reported he is interested in a move to the English giants.

Van Gaal has been linked with a number of targets and Fabregas, who was linked heavily with the Red Devils last summer during Moyes’ time in charge, could have his head swayed again in the direction of the Premier League.

Man United have been linked with a host of players, but the clubs chief executive Ed Woodward believes Fabregas is the most feasible option as he is cheaper than other targets such as Arturo Vidal and Toni Kroos. According to reports in Spain, van Gaal has been given the green light to proceed with a bid for the former Arsenal star.
