Rumour: Manchester United transfer targets revealed

Manchester United v Swansea City - Barclays Premier League

The Daily Star are covering all bases in their reporting of Manchester United’s transfer targets, alleging that they have a hit list of seven players that they are targeting. Red Devils’ boss David Moyes has allegedly been handed a £100 million transfer budget across the two transfer windows of 2014, with one or two midfield players top of his list.

The Star report that mooted Premier League targets for those positions includeEverton’s Ross Barkley, Southampton’s Adam Lallana and Chelsea’s Juan Mata. Foreign based players on the list include Juventus’s Arturo Vidal, Roma’s Miralem Pjanic, PSG’s Lucas Moura and Lazio’s Hernanes.

Manchester United are keen to boost their ailing squad, with the midfield an area of particular concern. Moyes is believed to share the doubts that many fans hold over Tom Cleverley and has let fellow midfielder Anderson leave the club this week.

The seven players named by the Star would certainly add creativity to the United midfield, and would signal a statement of intent should last season’s champions manage to pull off any of the deals.
