Rumour: Manchester United turn their attention to Southampton sensation Luke Shaw

The English champions, Manchester United have reportedly switched their attention to young Luke Shaw after being told to back off from primary target Leighton Baines.

Luke Shaw has emerged as one of the most sought after talents in England, after dazzling performances for his club Southampton. The 18-year old has caught the attention of many big wigs which include the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.

However, as Manchester United look to fill the void to be left by Patrice Evra, who is nearing the end of his career, they see the Englishman as his ideal replacement. The full back now seems to be on top of David Moyes’s shopping list which initially included the likes Fabio Coentrao and Alberto Moreno.

The Red Devils will have to match the valuation of £20 million if they are to lure Southampton into parting with one of their best yielding assets. Stiff resistance from rivals Chelsea could be a hurdle for the Old Trafford outfit to secure the services of the full back.
