Rumour: Real Madrid to make audacious bid for Hugo Lloris

Hugo Lloris could be tempted by UEFA Champions League football

Apart from Harry Kane’s mauling of Chelsea, Hugo Lloris has been hogging the Tottenham limelight, thanks to his impressive performances. However, if UK reports are anything to go by, the Frenchman could be on his way out.

Real Madrid are apparently launching an audacious bid of £25 million, which might see him move at the end of this season. His valuation will see them earn a profit of £17 million as he came to the Londoners from Lyon for a fee of £8.5 million.

Lloris has kept five clean sheets in 20 appearances this season, averaging 2.60 saves per game. He also makes at least two saves, before conceding a goal. Last season, the 28-year old kept 14 clean sheets in 38 games.

This would also mean ex-Swansea and current second choice Spurs keeper, Michel Vorm will be taking his place between the posts. With Spurs’ tentative chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, the bid just might provide enough impetus for Lloris to move.

The move could plunge Iker Casillas’ future into further doubt, who has been in spectacular form this season. The 33-year old has kept seven clean sheets in 14 appearances.
