Unsettled Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa could be set for a £15 million summer move to Turkish side Besiktas, according to the Daily Star.

The Japanese international has been frozen out of the first-team picture since David Moyes took over at Old Trafford and has made just nine appearances this season.

The arrival of record signing Juan Mata has forced Kagawa further down the pecking order, with the 24-year-old yet to make an appearance since the Spaniard joined the club.

Despite being blessed with glorious technical ability Kagawa has failed to impress Moyes and is likely to be amongst a number of players that leave United in the summer as the Scot begins an overhaul of the squad he inherited from Sir Alex Ferguson.

Having grown frustrated with his lack of opportunities, despite United’s midfield clearly lacking a creative spark for the majority of the campaign, Kagawa is believed to be interested in a return to the Bundesliga in the summer.

His preferred destination is a return to his former side Borussia Dortmund as Jurgen Klopp remains a huge admirer of the midfielder.

But the deal could hit a snag due to United’s current target Ilkay Gundogan, with Moyes planning to use Kagawa as part of a deal to entice the German to join United.

However, Dortmund are unwilling to sell their prize asset at present so United will look to recoup as much of the much fee they paid for the playmaker in 2012 with Besiktas reportedly ready to lodge a £15 million bid to secure his services.
