Dele Alli
A star in the making

Real Madrid have set their sights on their next midfield target Dele Alli. The Englishman has been in incredible form this season featuring as a regular for Tottenham Hotspur. Alli joined Spurs from MK Dons in January of 2015 and spent the rest of last season on loan there.

Mauricio Pocchetino gave the youngster his chance this season and Alli has adapted exceptionally well to the Premier League. Nobody thought he would adapt so quickly at such an early age having only played in the Championship before this term but he has exceeded all expectations.

Alli has notched up 11 goals and 7 assists in all competitions and has been crucial to Tottenham’s title charge this season. He received his first cap for England in October of 2015 coming on as a substitute for Ross Barkley against Estonia.

He made his first start against France scored in a 2-0 win at Wembley. Alli continued to do well and cemented a first team spot in the national side. His recent performance was his most impressive yet. England were trailing by two goals to Germany in Berlin but made an incredible second half comeback to beat them 3-2. All was named the man of the match for that game.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pocchetino has praised the youngster this season saying, “He has shown his talent, character and personality on the pitch very quickly. He has been with us only six months but it seems like he has been here 10 years, the way he plays.”

There is no doubt why Real Madrid are keen on taking the player to the Bernabeu. He’s already being hailed as the next Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard for England and according to AS Madrid are eyeing a move in the summer.

The club have previously raided Tottenham Hotspur for their star players with the likes of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale making the switch in recent seasons. And both players have flourished in Spain. So Alli have will be able to learn from the former Spurs’ stars on how to adapt in La Liga.
