Hosts Nepal and Afghanistan played a 1 – 1 stalemate in the ongoing 2nd South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U16 Championship here at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Afghanistan took the lead in 75th Minute while Nepal’s skipper Hemant Thapa Magar levelled the score in 81st minute of the match to share the spoils with the war-ravaged nation.

Earlier, Nepal had beaten Bhutan 7 – 0 while Pakistan played out a draw with Afghanistan.

Nepal tops the group with four points while Afghanistan has two. Defending champions Pakistan have 2 points as well and Bhutan with a solitary point in the group A of the Championship.

Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in Group B encounter on Tuesday.
