Sahin issues warning: Arsenal could crash out of Europe tonight

Borussia Dortmund’s Nuri Sahin has warned Arsenal that they could crash out of the Champions League if they do not win tonight’s clash at the Signal Iduna Park.

Sahin is set to line-up in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI for Arsenal’s visit, and the Turkish international is confident of taking all three points in tonight’s game.

“Our victory in London was very important but still nothing is closed,” Sahin told Sky Sports. “Now we are obliged to win at home to maintain our own chances.

“If we defeat them this week I see it being very complicated for them to make the next round of the Champions League.”

However, Sahin dismissed suggestions that Dortmund were fortunate to come away from the Emirates two weeks ago with all three points.

“Our win in the Emirates was justified, it was not easy or by luck – we were runners-up last season and we play every match with the same intensity,” he continued.

“We knew Arsenal would be more compact than us, but we stopped their key players.

“Arsenal are very offensive but their power is reduced if you can stop their creativity, that was our success in the first match and now we need to repeat the situation.

“The Gunners are not your typical English club, for me they are more European with a style like Spanish and German teams.”

Sahin has been involved in every game for Dortmund so far this season, creating 28 chances for team-mates in 14 games in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
