1. Saido Berahino was born on 4th August 1993 in the African nation of Burundi, which is the second poorest country in the world according to the World Bank.

2. At the age of 10 Saido and his mother escaped to England from Burundi, which was going through a fierce Civil war. Saido’s father died in the conflict.

3. The youngster signed for West Bromwich Albion’s Academy of Excellence at the age of 11.

4. Berahino competed in various youth tournaments for the Baggies before signing his first professional contract in 2011.

5. The striker has had successful loan spells with Northampton Town, Brentford and Peterborough United.

6. Berahino made his first start for the Baggies on 28th August 2012 against Newport County, where he scored an incredible hat-trick.
