LONDON, ENGLAND – OCTOBER 23: FC Schalke 04 coach Huub Stevens talks to the media during a press conference at Emirates Stadium on October 23, 2012 in London, England.

Bundesliga club Schalke 04 have sacked manager Huub Stevens after a run of six winless matches in the league.

Schalke are currently seventh in the league and are three places of a champions league spot. The decision comes a day after Schalke lost 1-3 at home to SC Freiburg yesterday.

The season started well for the German outfit and they did well in the UEFA Champions League to top their group ahead of Arsenal and even defeated them 2-0 at the Emirates.
