Schalke's Huntelaar to move to Arsenal?

Schalke’s Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (R) and Schalke’s midfielder Julian Draxler celebrate scoring during the German first division Bundesliga football match FC Schalke 04 vs Eintracht Frankfurt in the German city of Gelsenkirchen on November 24, 2012.

The 29-year-striker has been heavily linked with North London Club Arsenal recently, and reports suggest that the Dutchman was always keen to playing at The Emirates.

Former Liverpool striker Erik Meyer, who shares the same agent with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, has suggested that the later has already made his decision.

He told The Sunday Mirror: ‘According to the information I have, Huntelaar will be gone in the winter. Arsenal are the favourites.’

Huntelaar had been struggling to agree terms to a new contract, and his current contract will be expiring by the end of the season.

Although, Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt has denied any such rumors.

Heldt claimed that Arsenal are yet to make an official inquiry for Klass.

He said: “It’s pure speculation. Either Arsenal make us an offer, otherwise it’s a load of nonsense.”

Arsenal have also been linked with PSV Eindhoven full-back Jetro Willems as a replacement for Andre Santos.

The teenager is one of Europe’s bright prospects and it has been suggested that a €6.5m (£5.2m) bid would be adequate to persuade the young player.
