Sead Kolasinac has been immense since he joined Arsenal

Arsenal v Leicester City - Premier League
The Bosnian has been an inspired signing and a vindication of Wenger's methods

When it comes to spending money on transfers, everybody knows how conservative Arsene Wenger is. He has always had a knack for spotting potential or buying players at prices lower than what the market is demanding. Ashley Cole, Patrick Vieira, Cesc Fabregas etc. are veritable examples of this.

He has done it again this season, getting the Bosnian tank Sead Kolasinac on a free from Schalke 04.

Blessed with quick feet, versatility, agility, and with age on his side, Sead is already a fan favourite and seems to have made the left wing-back position his.

Given the 3-4-3 formation Arsenal plays, Kolasinac's impressive form has ensured that the veteran Spanish international Nacho Monreal has been moved into the left-sided centre-back position (where he has performed very well). Given his versatility, Kolasinac is also quite comfortable playing as a centre-back.

The player had represented Germany at youth level but chose to play for his parent's native Bosnia & Herzegovina at senior level.

He is a brilliant tackler who is capable of winning a variety of duels on the football pitch be it aerial battles or foot races.

He usually likes to hug the touchline and make marauding runs up and down the left flank contributing both in attack and in defence. Despite his seemingly overweight physique, he shows no signs of fatigue and gives excellent performances week in, week out.

Chelsea v Arsenal - The FA Community Shield

He has a very good eye for putting in great crosses and the Arsenal strikers: Alexander Lacazette, Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud have been beneficiaries of his crossing abilities.

His debut for the Gunners was very memorable as he scored the opening goal in the season's FA Community Shield game against league winners Chelsea; a game where he got his first piece of silverware as Arsenal eventually triumphed on penalties.

The Premier League is yet to reach the halfway but he already has 4 assists and 1 goal to his name.

It will be interesting to see how Arsene manages his minutes over the very busy Christmas period but come what may, the Bosnian is already looking to be one of the best buys of the season and should have little competition being voted into the Premier League First XI of the season if he continues in this vein.
