FIFA chief Sepp Blatter has indicated that he will seek a fifth term as the President of FIFA and has criticized UEFA by calling them ‘disrespectful’ for calling for his resignation.
The 78-year-old Swiss was angered when a number of European officials, including Football Association chairman Greg Dyke, asked him to resign.
"This was the most disrespectful thing I've ever experienced in my entire life," he told FIFA's congress.
Blatter, ahead of the commencement of the FIFA World Cup said that his mission as a FIFA President was not over which indicated that he would stand for elections for the post in 2015. The fact that FIFA has decided not to impose any maximum age or term has helped Blatter’s case.
Blatter has come under the scanner following FIFA’s main sponsors urging the organization to take a deep look into the corruption allegations which surrounds them following. The main criteria was Qatar’s successful bid for the 2022 World Cup which may have been rigged.
Blatter’s case is not helped by the fact that Sunday Times claimed to have access to files which already reviewed by FIFA investigators as part of his long running examination of Qatar’s successful bid to host the 2022 World Cup.
