Gnabry has been Arsenals breakout star this season

Arsene Wenger has a knack for producing wonder kids, and Serge Gnabry is the latest youngster to join the ranks of superstars like Cesc Fabregas, Robin Van Persie, Alex Song and Jack Wilshere who have come through the ranks at Arsenal and have gone on to impress the word. The young German burst on to the scene in the match against Swansea City even managing to score a goal to help his team achieve a 2-1 victory. The 18-year-old then gave a string of impressive performances for the Gunners, earning himself a place on the Golden Boy Award list which eventually went to Juventus’s Paul Pogba.

Gnabry’s performance’s this season have apparently convinced Arsene Wenger that the winger is fit to fill in for the injured Theo Walcott, who is set to miss the rest of the season as well as the World Cup. Gnabry’s situation is exactly the opposite of Walcott’s not only will he be featured heavily this season but might also earn himself a place in Germany’s World Cup squad. Arsene Wenger is full of praise for his young prodigy and was recently quoted as saying “There is more than a small chance. There’s a big chance,”. These words should serve as an extra motivation for the young winger who is aching to make his mark in the Premier League.

Gnabry is good with both feet along with possessing some great technical ability and has averaged a 88.6% passing success rate which is incredible for a player of his age. Like Walcott, Gnabry operates as a winger who makes use of his speed to outwit opponents and dominate the flank. The teenager also has an appetite for goals, having found the back of the net 3 times in 5 appearances so far for Germany’s Under-19 football team.

What makes Gnabry a perfect replacement for Walcott is his speed. Gnabry absolutely dazzled in the fateful game against Tottenham Hotspur where the opposition defense found him too hot to handle. Serge is just the type of attacking asset Arsenal need if they want to break down some of the toughest defenses out there. The youngster has experience in European football as he was an important member of Arsenal’s NextGen squad so including him in Champions League matches should not be much of a problem. The only thing Arsenal should not do is use the player extensively in the Premier League as he is still developing physically and stands a high risk of picking up an injury.

Arsenal fans can breathe easy as they already have an upcoming superstar for the future who didn’t cost millions. It won’t be long before Gnabry is in contention for the PFA Young Player of the Year Award and possibly greater achievements. Gnabry’s is Arsenal’s answer to another youngster who has been domination the headlines, who plays for Manchester United, is extremely talented and also wears the number 44……..Adnan Januzaj!
