Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has warned Barcelona saying their spectacular form so far this season would not last forever and has also advised them to enjoy their fruitful spell while they can.

The ace defender was speaking at the La Liga awards on Monday night. He was presented with the ‘best defender’ award for the 2014/15 season as Barcelona scooped up 5 awards which included 2 awards for Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.

Real Madrid’s eternal rivals Barcelona have been in inspired form this season. They lead the La Liga standings with a four-point lead over second-placed Atletico Madrid and a further two points over Los Blancos. Over the last week, they have amassed 11 goals in three games with wins over Real Madrid, AS Roma and Real Sociedad.

Ramos, who acknowledged that their 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the Catalans was a big blow, opined that nothing is permanent and fortunes change pretty quickly in football. He also cited their own form last season as a testament to that fact.

Real Madrid were cruising at this point in time last season with a 22-game unbeaten streak in all competitions but finished the season without a single trophy while their rivals ended up winning a historic treble even after having a mediocre start early on in the season.

“Football changes in a matter of hours and last season we ended the year really well and Barca were worse than us, but at the end of the season they won the Treble,” Ramos said.

“Now Barca are in good form, so let them enjoy it, because you never now how long it'll last. You have to be prepared for both the praise and the criticism because, like I said, football is always changing.”

All three players are deserving candidates for Ballon d’Or: Ramos

The Los Merengues skipper has refused to divulge his thoughts on who would win the Ballon d’Or this year saying all the three finalists deserved to be nominated. FIFA had earlier released the list of the final three candidates for this year’s award which included teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar. The award will be presented to one of them in January at a gala in Zurich.

“It doesn’t depend on me,” he stated.

“I don’t know what criteria they use to judge it, but the three of them all deserve to be there.”

He also expressed his regret for not having experienced the feeling of getting nominated for World Football’s biggest individual honour but felt that all the three finalists were ready to win the award.

“I have a little bit of healthy envy that I've not been able to experience a moment like that (being a Ballon d'Or finalist), but all three are ready (to win it).”
