Sesa Football Academy’s Glan Martinson trial at USL PRO Combine in IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida

After the successful transfer of star player, ChukwudiChukwuma to Czech Republic GambrinusLiga side, FK Teplice, Sesa Football Academy is set to send another young talent, Glan Martins from its ranks on trial at the USL PRO (United Soccer Leagues Professional) Combine which is set for January 23-26, 2014 at the IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida.

Glan will participate in a three-day trial which will include training sessions and a practice match closely monitored by domestic and international scouts as well as professional coaches. Glan Martins, known for his sound technique and brilliant passing skills, began his stint with Sesa Football Academy in 2010.

Glan was elated after learning about the trial and said, “I am delighted to have been invited for the USL PRO Combine. It is a very big opportunity for me and I hope I can make the most of it. I would like to thank Sesa Football Academy and its coaches for all their training and guidance and Libero Sports India for helping me secure a spot for this trial.”

Executive Director of SesaSterlite (erstwhile Sesa Goa), Mr P.K. The USL PRO Combine provides an opportunity for elite men’s soccer players to showcase their talents. The annual event, now in its eighth year, will feature 102 of the top players from North America and overseas hoping to land a professional contract. To date, more than 150 participants have gone on to sign professional contracts with USL, MLS and international squads since the debut of the combine in 2006.

The USL PRO Combine will be led by USL National Technical Director Peter Mellor who said, “Glan is considered one of the best young players in India and we are thrilled that he is going to take part in the USL Pro Combine where he will compete with elite players from across the country. USL Pro serves as an

aspirational destination for top talent from around the world looking to play professional soccer in the US and we see India as a unique and opportunistic market for us to reach out to.
