Alex Sandro is a quick, energetic and an offensive-minded defender. He currently plays as a left full-back but is capable of playing anywhere in the left wing. He has tremendous pace, can beat opponents one-on-one and is an excellent crosser.

His style of play has drawn comparisons with Brazilian compatriot Roberto Carlos. Manchester United are in search of a left-back as Luke Shaw is too injury-prone and does not enjoy the confidence of Jose Mourinho.

Ashley Young, having featured predominantly as a left-back this season, has performed well, but he is not a traditional left-back. Sandro will be the perfect solution for Manchester United on the left and will provide the attacking impetus as well for Lukaku to make use of.
