SK Adda: Who was the best Asian footballer to play in Europe
- While many think Park Ji Sung and Paulino Alcantara are the best Asian players to play in Europe, Cha Bun-Kun's name is also remembered
SK Adda is a platform for the readers to get involved in the daily banter on the most (un)important topics in the world of sports. Comment on the topic of the day on Facebook, if your idea is unique, quirky or a brilliant troll, we’ll publish them. Here are the top comments from yesterday’s topic.
Bum-Kun Cha or Cha Bum-Kun. He was the best Asian ever to play in Europe.
SK Thinks: Cha or Chu?
Paulino Alcantara. Highest goal scorer of Barcelona until Messi broke it. This Phillipino played both for Spain and Philippines with same hunger for goals. But for a pure Asian player Park Ji Sung is the best ever. Ballon d'Or nominated player, Man Utd legend.
Ji Sung Park is a great player best in Asia, Manchester United legend . He was the engine behind Manchester's success. But still Lord Bendtner is the best.
SK Thinks: Punit has a great potential to work at Sportskeeda, but only if he knew how to troll. Lord Bendtner? Brah!
Park Ji-Sung without a shadow of doubt. He was a brilliant player and was a key component of Man Utd's midfield. Then you have Hidetoshi Nakata. The guy's talent was enough for Pele to name him in the FIFA 100. Had he not retired at the age of 29, then he could have been the greatest Asian footballer ever and Japan could have gone further in the 2010 World Cup.
SK Thinks: Bro, if it wasn’t for the unintended meme below, yours was the winning comment.
Park Ji-Sung is the best Asian football player ever. People used to call him "Three Lungs Park" for his immense stamina on the field.
Park Ji Sung was awesome. Miss him at United. He was better than many of the current players in England.
It's funny how nobody knows HOW GREAT PAULINO WAS!!!!
SK Thinks: We feel you, man. These blinded Man United fans!
Alex Ferguson called him "unstoppable". Lothar Matthaus said he was one of the best attackers in the world and Jurgen Klinsmann put himself a level below. Despite all the acclaim from around the world in the pre-internet and satellite age, Cha Bum-kun really would have been a superstar if he had been born two decades later.
SK Thinks: Food for thought.
Kagawa and Honda in Today's Generation.
However, we have a winning comment from Marghoob Khan who got a stiff competition from his own ghost it seems. In one response, he said, “Indian cricket team played better football than Asian football team .. so my prediction is all of indian team players.”
While in another, he added, “Baichung Bhutia.. and MS Dhoni”
SK Thinks: AIFF should hire Marghoob Khan as their Scout.
