Solskjaer to United over Mourinho and Guardiola?

United fans will never forget that night in 1999 when the ‘Silent Assassin’ tucked in a late winner for the Red Devils in the Champions League final. And that’s the love United fans have for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. With Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement talks heating up as days go by, the papers have found a new candidate to replace the legendary manager, and it’s none other than the Norwegian. He may not be a big name compared to the likes of Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, but as a manager in the early stages of his career, Ole is making all the right noises.

He has won the domestic title with the Norwegian club Molde, who he currently manages. Many say that it’s an easy achievement but to win the league with a club that had never won before should be appreciated. Speaking of Old Trafford, he’s been there and felt the atmosphere, he knows the club and the fans and has previous experience in managing the Manchester United reserves, where he contributed to the growth of now first team players like Welback, Cleverley etc. Solskjaer certainly deserves his place in the rumours and remembering how the great SAF himself came up, Ole has a similar story – managing a small team with low means and making them into a league winning side. And as we all know. Sir Alex will have the biggest say about his successor.

‘”If you go to a club in Norway that have never won the league ever in their history and you win the league you have to have something about you to do that. He has got an inner toughness, there’s no doubt about that, He is a nice man with a lovely manner about him. It’s possibly one of the most important things and he has been decisive, so yes he has got a lot going for himself.”

All is going the Norwegian’s way and who knows, when the whole world will be waiting for a big name to succeed Sir Alex, it may well be the perfect setting for a fan favorite to return home.
