Spain squad to face Italy announced: Costa to make debut; Mata and Torres snubbed

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has announced the squad for the friendly against Italy on the 5th of March, which will be played at the Vicente Calderon.

Brazilian born Spanish international Diego Costa could make his international debut in the friendly against Italy, after having to withdraw from the squad for two friendlies in November, due to an injury.

The Premier League duo of record signings Fernando Torres of Chelsea and Juan Mata of Manchester United have both been snubbed by del Bosque.

The son of former Brazilian mid-fielder Mazinho, the Italy-born Thiago Alcantara also returns to the squad after injury.
