Spending €100m on Bale is foolish: Cesc Fabregas

Real Madrid recently admitted that they are in the process of readying a bid of over €100m in order to sign up Tottenham winger Gareth Bale.

However, Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas feels that Bale is not worth €100m.

He said, “Spending £100m on Bale is foolish, I don’t know how any club could spend that amount of money. He is a great player but we will have to see if Madrid sign him and if he can perform there.”

There had been speculation regarding Fabregas’ impending move to Manchester United, but the Spaniard negated all the rumours saying that he hasn’t received any offers from England so far.

The former Arsenal player said, “People talk a lot but the truth is no one has spoken with me.”

“I want to triumph in Barcelona. I dreamed of playing there, so I will try and succeed for as long as I can.”

The 26-year-old also believes that Neymar, who was signed for £49 million earlier this month, might prove to be a very good signing for Barcelona. He feels that Brazil’s latest sensation can very well light up their camp.

When asked whether any clash of egos exist between him and Messi, Fabregas said: “The egos are very controlled.”

“Messi has won the Ballon d’Or four times and is the best player of all-time but, when you see him every morning, he doesn’t seem like it.”
