Spurs’ classless deleted tweet after Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace

With a 3-3 draw away to Crystal Palace, Liverpool’s title chances were all but ended. Manchester City now need just 4 points from the remaining two games to secure the title. The Reds well and truly let it slip, after being 3-0 up with 11 minutes to go.

As expected, Liverpool fans had to bear the brunt of a whole host of jokes on Social Media platform, Twitter. But Tottenham Hotspurs’ official Twitter account sent out a tweet, which while still in the tone of friendly banter, is quite classless and unprofessional to do as the official spokesperson of the club on Twitter. It sends out an awful message about the club.

The tweet, now deleted, poked fun at Steven Gerrard and his “this does not slip now” speech after defeating Manchester City. The tweet included a vine of the speech, then Gerrard’s slip against Chelsea, Gayle’s equliser at Selhurst Park and a final image of a laughing Tony Pulis.

To have that come from the official twitter account of the club is quite surprising, and looks like they dealt with it immediately, not until thousands of fans already had a look though.
