Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
It's Liverpool against Tottenham Hotspur, live from Anfield this Sunday!

Defence

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton - Premier League
Jan Vertonghen is having a good season at Spurs.

Liverpool have the best home defensive record in the league, with only 7 conceded in 12 games at home. They also have bought Virgil van Dijk for a world-record fee for a defender. However, there are still a lot of evident gaps in that defensive line, and so we are not going to go with an all-Red defensive lineup, even if it’s Anfield.

At right back, we are going with Kieran Trippier, who has impressed immensely in that starting role, since Kyle Walker’s departure last summer. The same is the case with the other full-back, as Ben Davies takes control of the proceedings at left-back. His phenomenal start to the season, followed by the consistency shown has kept Danny Rose out of the lineup.

Another Spurs player that makes into this defensive set up is Jan Vertonghen who has enjoyed a good season so far, having had to shoulder extra responsibilities in the Spurs defence, in absence of his partner Toby Alderweireld.

Liverpool finally open their account in this lineup as the other centre back is Virgil van Dijk, who is still finding his feet at Liverpool, but whose quality is well-known.
