The role of the two players seem quite different. Both players play a very attacking style of football, but Nani seems to have the role of a playmaker rather than a goal-scorer. He uses his speed and ball control to link well with his teammates, to push the attack. With shots being taken now and then, he does threaten the goalkeepers. But the danger starts when he picks up momentum and catches defenders off-guard.
On the other hand, James Rodriguez plays straight-out attacking football, moving to the wing every time he gets the ball to hit those deadly crosses into the penalty box.
