Strootman's agent confirms United interest
Kevin Strootman’s agent Chiel Dekker has confirmed that English giants Manchester United have expressed an interest in the Dutch midfielder – and revealed that his client would welcome a move to the Premier League as reported by Talksport.
The 22-year-old Strootman is on the radar of a number of top European clubs.
Reports in Holland suggested Strootman would make a move during the Winter transfer window in January, but Dekker is said to have told talkSPORT that Strootman would prefer a summer transfer.
Dekker told talkSPORT: “All the top clubs in Europe know about Kevin, but a move to England next summer is his first priority and, yes, Manchester United and other big clubs in Europe have been in touch with me.”
Manchester United have had well documented problems in midfield in the past few seasons with fans crying out for an adequate replacement for the ageing Paul Scholes.
The PSV Eindhoven box-to-box midfielder has an eye for goal and could fill in the void in United’s midfield, possibly turning out to be the final piece of the puzzle in the young, vibrant team Sir Alex Ferguson is setting out to assemble.
