Suarez back at Melwood, Carroll to West Ham Off and Nuri Sahin

Good afternoon, folks. Hope you guys are enjoying the Olympics, and here’s just an update on Liverpool FC.

Luis Suarez returned to training just yesterday, and here is a picture to prove it:

So it looks like the Uruguayan will be in the mix for Liverpool’s tie against FC Gomel at Anfield in a few days time. Should already have the match fitness, given his Team Uruguay were involved in highly competitive matches. He might even be ahead of Liverpool players in terms of fitness program. Just hope that he won’t over-strain himself this season.

In other striker news, another player who will be appearing in tomorrow’s round of training pictures should be Andy Carroll. He has reportedly rejected West Ham’s package, and will stay a Liverpool player (at least for now). Liverpool accepted a 2 million pound loan deal, with an added 17 million on top should West Ham stay afloat in the EPL. Apparently, he is still waiting on Newcastle’s first move. Otherwise, he should be staying with the Reds beyond the summer, whether Brendan Rodgers likes it or not.

To cap of today’s post, Liverpool FC might just beat Arsenal (and apparently Tottenham as well) for Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin. It says here that Brendan Rodgers is still on good terms with Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, and the Portuguese manager could just convince the midfielder that a move to Merseyside would be beneficial to his development as a player, according to a reliable UK daily.

That’s it for today, I’ll be back sometime in the week for more, so do check in regularly!
