Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard hails Luis Suarez as the best player he’s ever played with.

The Uruguayan international won a treble of awards – Players’ Player of the Year, Fans’ Player of the Year and the goal of the season awards at a recent award ceremony.

The 27-year old former Ajax man has bagged a staggering 31 goals in 33 appearances this term and is all but assured of another silverware, the Premier League Golden boot.

Suarez has been in blistering form this season, right from the time he returned from a lengthy ban imposed on him for the ‘biting’ incident and has been a catalyst for Liverpool’s dream run.

His counterpart, Stevie G. has spoken highly of him for his tremendous contribution to the club. “Luis seems to be cleaning up at the moment,” he told reporters. “He’s won everything and we are lucky to have such a world-class talent like Luis playing here with us and helping us to do great things and be successful.”

“He is out there by a big distance as the best player I have played with and that is no disrespect to anyone else – there has been some top talent for club and country – but this fella can do the lot. He is different to most footballers.”

Suarez shed tears inconsolably when his side relinquished a comfortable 3-0 lead, to finish the game 3-3 at Crystal Palace this Wednesday. The result has all but ended their much anticipated Premier League aspirations, as the initiative is now on Manchester City who need only 4 points from a possible 6 to claim the trophy.

“There is some disappointment looming around but if this fella stays around for a few more years I think there will be some really big nights.” added the Reds’ talismanic captain, Gerrard.

Liverpool will ring the curtain down on their sublime season when they take on a lowly Newcastle United at home, this weekend.
