Summer targets for Manchester United

Dutch Cup final - AZ v PSV

Kevin Strootman

The highly-rated Dutch midfielder was advised by his recently-departed PSV coach Dick Advocaat to move from the Netherlands this summer in order to face new challenges in his career. Taking the cue, Strootman has sent strong signals of him quitting PSV in the summer. And, with David Moyes being a long-time admirer of the player, it will be no surprise to see Strootman in a red jersey playing in front of 75,000 people next season.

Another bright prospect for the future, the 19-year-old English midfielder is highly rated by David Moyes. And the positive spin is that the young midfielder would not cost United to dig deep into their transfer chest to lure the player away from Goodison Park. Clearly, a purchase for the future, the potential Powell-Barkley midfield partnership is likely to hold the Old Trafford bastion in the future, and his arrival will salivate the Stretford End faithful.

The PFA Award winner this term, the next Welsh wizard is on every club’s transfer list. His exploits for Tottenham last season has enabled his stock soar. With Bale and Zaha on the flanks and RvP and Rooney (hopefully he stays), they will create havoc in the attacking third. However, Bale has a price tag. If the price tag is reasonable enough, Moyes will not mind spending big on him. Moreover, a source in London says that one English club is bidding for Gareth Bale. Also, Sir Alex hinted that one big signing is possible this summer. Who knows? It may be Bale.
