7. John Barnes

Even during its decline, Liverpool had its moments of shine during the 90s, and this man was a vital part of most of them. Barnes in his 407 appearances, scored on 108 occasions and lifted 4 major titles – including 2 first-divisions in 1987-88 and 1989-90.

The left winger often received praise for his splendid ball control which left even the best in awe.

6. Ian St John

Ian joined the legendary Bill Shankly’s Liverpool side in 1961 and debuted in a Merseyside derby against Everton. Though Liverpool lost 4-3, the 3 goals he scored was enough to proclaim his talent to the world. He went on to score 118 goals in 424 appearances he made for Liverpool, winning 2 leagues and 1 FA cup. Post-retirement, he took up the role of manager of Motherwell and Portsmouth FC, and later, established himself as a pundit for various media houses.
