Lionel Messi has a fantastic record against the current Premier League champions. The Argentinean has scored 6 goals in 6 games against City in the Champions League so far.
The Barcelona Skipper first scored against City in the very first meeting between the two sides. In the Round of 16 tie of the 2013/14 season, Messi scored from the spot at the Etihad, as Barcelona won 2-0 on the night. He was on the scoresheet again at the Camp Nou, as Barcelona won 2-1 to progress to the quarterfinals.

The two sides met again in the same stage of the competition in the following season, but Messi failed to score in both legs, even though Barcelona won the tie. In the 2016/17 season, the two teams were pitted together in Group C. Messi scored a fantastic hattrick at the Camp Nou and also set up Neymar for another as Barcelona won 4-0 at home. The Argentinean scored again at the Etihad, but City rallied to win the game 3-1.
Even though Messi's form against the current Premier League champions is impressive, but there's one team in England he enjoys playing against even more.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
