The Brazilian is the third best player this year and retains his 92 rating. Neymar has been a longtime favourite for Ultimate Team players due to his five-star skill rating in the game. Expect more players to use PSG this season however as Neymar is now paired with another superstar in the game, Kylian Mbappe.

Messi has seen his rating increase by one point compared to last year's game. The increase came as Messi successfully guided Barcelona to the La Liga title whilst also setting new all-time league scoring records. He will most likely be the most expensive player in the career mode due to him being 2.5 years younger than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The cover star retains his 94 rating from last year's edition of the game. His pace stats have been slightly decreased due to his age however his power and strength will once again make him the most dominant player in the game.

The Verdict

The list serves no surprises and the usual suspects occupy the top 10 spots. Manuel Neuer has finally been replaced as the best goalkeeper in the game but this was largely down to him missing most of last season with injury.

EA has interestingly decided to give both Messi and Ronaldo a rating of 94. Based on the form of the two players over the last 12 months this is the right decision. It will however further fuel the debate between fans over who is the better player, so let FIFA season begin.
