Arsenal could receive a massive injury boost in the form of Theo Walcott ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Gunners play Borussia Dortmund in a Champions League group game in Dortmund and Walcott is not expected to be fit for the trip. But he has stepped up his training to be fit in time for the weekend game.

Walcott has been out since September after an abdominal injury required surgery. The forward had traveled to Germany for the operation and has since then been recovering, leading him to miss England’s World Cup qualifiers and ten games for the North London club.

His return would give Arsene Wenger more options considering both Lukas Podolski and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain are also unfit.

For the Dortmund game, Jack Wilshere and Keiran Gibbs are not expected to travel. Wilshere injured his left ankle in training last week while Gibbs hobbled off in the game against Liverpool with a calf strain.
