Thierry Henry set to return to Arsenal as a coach

Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

Sources report that former Arsenal marksman, Thierry Henry, is all set to return to the Emirates as a member of the coaching staff once his contract with the New York Red Bulls ends later this year.

Despite all the MLS bosses wanting Henry to stay in the United States, the Frenchman has said that he has heart set on returning to his old club. Arsenal’s all-time record goal scorer has been in touch with Arsene Wenger even after leaving the Gunners for Barcelona in 2007.

Thierry Henry signed for Arsenal from Juventus for just £11 million in 1999. The French striker has scored 174 goals for the English side and has made 254 appearances for them. He was brought in by Arsene Wenger as a replacement for Nicolas Anelka. Wenger moulded Henry into a world class striker, which turned to be the biggest asset for the Gunners. In 2007, Barcelona signed Henry following which he moved to the United States in 2010 to play for New York.

Arsene Wenger earmarked the French international for the role of coaching the youth, although the exact job description is yet to be decided.
