Messi just can't stop scoring

With Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Spanish football for the Serie a, Lionel Messi has the chance to become the record-setter in La Liga in terms of scoring hat-tricks.

Messi has scored three or more goals on 30 occasions during his career with Barcelona in the Spanish League. Cristiano currently holds the record, having scored his 34th treble back in March for his former employers, Real Madrid.

Messi's first hat-trick came way back in March 2007, when he scored three goals against eternal rivals Real Madrid in a 3-3 draw at the young age of 19. His best season in terms of hat-tricks during the 2011/12 season when he smashed in eight trebles, helping himself to a record 50 goals in La Liga.

With Messi in his prime, scoring four hat-tricks across the season should not be a very difficult task for the maestro. His most recent hat-trick came against Deportivo La Coruña back in April.
