A three-year-old boy, Haidar, who unfortunately lost both his parents to the bombings in Beirut was received with open arms and warm hearts by Spanish football club, Real Madrid. "Haidar, a three-year-old child who in November lost both of his parents in bombings in Beirut, saw his dream come true on Friday when he was given the opportunity to meet his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo," Real Madrid said in a statement posted on its website.

"The youngster, who is a Real Madrid fan, was received by Florentino Pérez in the Santiago Bernabéu boardroom, where he was given a Madrid shirt by the club president," the statement continued.

Haidar is seen sporting a Real Madrid number 7 jersey with his own name on the back. Ronaldo, donning a suit, is seen hugging the child and talking to him, asking him to stop crying.

Club president, Florentino Perez, was the one to give Haidar his jersey before briefly showing him around Real Madrid's trophy room. Haidar, along with his guardians, has also been invited to come and witness Real Madrid's La Liga game against Rayo Vallecano later tonight.

"Following the brutal attack in the Lebanese capital last month, the story of Haidar, photographed in a Real Madrid shirt after surviving the massacre, came to global attention. And, since then, the club had been ceaseless in its efforts to get in contact with him and arrange for his dream of meeting Cristiano and visiting the Bernabéu to be brought to life," the statement said. "On Sunday, Haidar will attend the Whites' match against Rayo Vallecano," it concluded.

Around 44 people were killed in the bombing of Burj al-Barajneh – a suburb in Beirut. It's one of the worst bombings the county has ever faced with the Islamic State taking responsibility. Time and time again, football seems to be picking up people who fall because of terrorism. Real Madrid are doing their part. Hats off to the club.
