Arsenal v Crystal Palace - Premier League
Xhaka has often struggled with disciplinary problems

The Premier League isn't everyone's cup of tea. It is often regarded as the best league in the world, for a number of reasons. The top flight of English football is often home to a number of footballing stars which combined with immense wealth only makes for better competition.

The stadiums that are packed to the rafters often create intimidating atmospheres, leading to huge expectations and not everyone manages to cope.

The league's immense competitiveness often leads to surprising and unexpected results, bringing players under huge scrutiny. The level of competition is such that managers struggle to survive for long stints, and are often given the boot.

After a string of poor results, fans tend to target a few players mainly due to their underwhelming performances. Herein, we take a look at 10 players that are currently the most hated players in the league.

#10 Granit Xhaka (Arsenal)

Once a highly rated player, Xhaka hasn't lived up to his £40.50 million price tag with which he arrived from Borussia Mönchengladbach. Since his arrival, he has often struggled with disciplinary problems, picked up a couple of red cards and didn't seem to have the best chemistry with his fellow teammates.

His long passes may be some of the best in the league, however, it becomes very frustrating when he misplays simple 10-foot passes.

Xhaka has also had many bad giveaways in midfield this season while under pressure, and some of those have led to goals. A compulsive shooter from long range, Xhaka may score a few spectacular goals, but misses about 10 before he puts one in the back of the net.

Often times, Xhaka seems to be a second or two off the pace and will often hold the ball for just a bit too long, allowing the pressure to come onto him instead of making a timely pass. His general lack of focus and languid approach to the sport has often put him in the firing line.
