The game was played in Barcelona's home ground of Camp Nou and it was a largely straightforward affair, with the Catalans running out 3-1 winners.
The Blaugrana raced into a two-goal lead inside the first 36 minutes, with Lionel Messi opening the scoring with a trademark mazy run that saw him beat four defenders (the goal was nominated for the Puskas award), while Neymar made it 2-0 in the 36th minute.
Messi made sure of the result with his brace in the 73rd minute while Inaki Williams scored a consolation for Ernesto Valverde's side in the 79th minute. The game was significant in that it was the last fixture Xavi played at Camp Nou.
