Top 11 easily identifiable look-alikes in the world of sports

The concept of doppelgangers is a fascinating one. It is an art. Not everyone can spot look-alikes. Certain celebrities who actually appear to be highly similar to certain other famous personalities (footballers in this case) will only make this discussion more interesting. Let us proceed to the game of ”spot the differences”.

1. Rafa Benitez and Bubba Rey Dudley (TNA/WCW/WWE wrestler)

Let us start with a unique look alike. I stress on the word unique because, in certain dimensions and angles of observation they appear to be a photocopy of each other, especially with the french beard.

2. George Clooney (actor) and Owen Coyle

In the managerial category we have the next pair of look-alikes. While one is always look a ‘Coyle’d rubber taken out of an Owen, the other is the sexiest man alive.

Introducing..George Coyle.

3. Paolo De Ceglie and Ashton Kutcher (actor)

We now move to an actor-player look-alike. One stays in Juventus, while the other loves Vegas and Moore.

The Italian-American connection.

4. Andy Garcia (actor) and Dimitar Berbatov

In the same category we have the stylish look-alike of all time. One is a Don and other owns Bellagio.

Godfather look. A la Corleone.

5. Frank Lampard and Liam Neeson (actor)

We analyze further in the inter connected worlds of film stars and football players and we come across look-alikes of significant age difference, and yet they make a good entry for ”spot the six differences” game.

Super Frank and the Schindler.

6. Raul Meireles and Johnny Messner (actor from Tears of the Sun)

Despite the weird hairdo and unshaven countenance, they can be a safe bet to be long lost brothers.

7. Luis Suarez and Mithun Manhas (cricketer)

Now this is something totally surprising. Different continents. Different sport. Different characters and attributes. Yet there is something strikingly similar between the two, starting from the beaver tooth.

The Beaver brothers.

8. Bret the Hitman Hart (legendary wrestler) and Carlos Puyol

This one is Epic. Two legends of two totally different sports who can very well share the same tagline -” The best there is, The best there was, the best there ever will be!” One legend makes you tap an other taps the ball out to safety.

Legendary doppelgangers.

9. David Blaine (Illusionist) and Clint Dempsey

They both are charmers. One is an illusionist and the other has been a magician off late. Apart from the looks, one more thing in common is that, when they perform you just stare and applaud.

David and The Clint.

10. Rocky Balboa (film character) and Diego Milito

No celebrity related post is complete without a reference to a super-hero. Rocky Balboa is a fighter and a beast. So is this footballer who runs riot when in form. Clearly the left one is The Rocky in the ring, the other is a Rock in front of the goal.

Rocky and The Rock.

11. Gianluigi Buffon and Mohammad Asif (controversial cricketer)

Finally we have a pair of look-alike who are very different in their careers. While one of them, is a true personification of loyalty and honesty, the other found himself on the other extreme of the line resulting in a smudged career.

The Good and the Bad.
