Barcelona are one of the most successful clubs in Spanish football, to say the least. They have 25 LaLiga titles, 30 Copa del Rey trophies, 13 Supercopa de Espana, three Copa Eva Duarte, two Copa de La Liga, four UEFA Cup Winners' Cups, five UEFA Super Cups, along with five UEFA Champions League titles and three FIFA Club World Cups.

Much of their success is down to their extravagant spending in the transfer market and their ability to sign big players. The Blaugrana have spent a whopping amount of £675.2 million since the starting of the 2015-16 season, making them one of the highest spending teams in the world of this period.

Club legends like Ronaldinho and Rivaldo were all signed for big money by the club. On that note, here's the list of the top three most expensive Barcelona signings of all time.

#3 Neymar - €88.20 million

Barcelona splashed a transfer fee of €88.20 million to sign Neymar from Santos FC in the summer transfer window of 2013, making him the third most expensive player in the history of the club.

Neymar is one of the most talented footballers of his generation and he enjoyed a great spell with the Blaugrana. He played 186 games in all competitions during his five-year spell with the Spanish giants, scoring 105 times.

The Brazillian helped Barcelona won two LaLiga titles, three Copa del Rey trophies, one Supercopa de Espana along with one FIFA Club World Cup and one UEFA Champions League trophy.

He was awarded the LaLiga Best World Player accolade during the 2014-15 season, and was also the part of the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season 2014-15.

The 26-year-old left Barcelona for PSG for a world record transfer fee of €222 million in 2017 and is currently playing with the Ligue 1 club.

#2 Ousmane Dembele - €120 million

The club spent a whopping amount of €120 million to sign Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window of 2017.

The Frenchman started his professional career with Rennes and moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2016. He enjoyed a great first season at the Westfalenstadion and helped the BVB win the DFB-Pokal 2016-17.

Dembele won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season 2017-18 accolade and was also included in the Bundesliga Team of the Season 2017-18 for his performances.

However, his stay in Germany did not last long and he joined Barcelona after just one season with the North Rhine-Westphalia based club.

The youngster struggled to replicate his Dortmund form during his first season in Spain, and scored just three goals in 17 league games during the 2017-18 season. Nevertheless, he has returned to his best this season and is now one of Barcelona's most important players.

Dembele has registered eight goals and three assists in 19 LaLiga games thus far, and even forced superstars like Phillipe Coutinho to the bench.

#1 Philippe Coutinho - €135 million

Barcelona signed Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool for €135 million in the January transfer window of 2018, which makes him the most expensive Barcelona player of all time.

The Brazillian international started his professional career with Inter Milan and joined Liverpool in 2013. He established himself among the best players in the Premier League with the Reds and won the Liverpool Players' Player of the Season accolade twice.

However, the Merseysiders' failure to win any major trophy made it difficult for them to keep hold of their superstar. He eventually made the switch in 2018 after submitting the formal transfer request to the club.

It began well enough for the Brazillian at the Camp Nou and he scored 10 goals in 22 appearances during his first half season with the club. However, he has suffered from injuries and bad form this season, and is currently struggling for game time at the club.

Coutinho has been linked with a shock exit during the January transfer window, and Barcelona's latest recruitment of Frank de Jong creates more doubts over his long term future at the club.
