The best player in the champions. Antoine Griezmann's performance in Russia might not have jumped into every fan's eyes, but the Atlético de Madrid striker did everything needed for France to overcome its rivals, both on offence, goalscoring or assisting, and defence.
Griezmann's effort for France was his most valuable action in the entire tournament. He won Man of the Match recognition in three of France's seven games, including the tournament's final.
The lefty forward scored four goals, including three penalties, one of those in the final. Griezmann was fearless from the penalty spot, which is an ability often overlooked, But in a World Cup where Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo missed game-changing penalties for their teams, Griezmann did not disappoint.
Also, Griezmann assisted twice in the championship from set pieces. On the same note, he kicked the ball before Mario Mandzukic's own goal in the World Cup final.
