The Premier League has already crossed its halfway mark and the season has warmed up well. At the top of the table, Liverpool has achieved a little comfort space, however, Manchester City are close at their heels.

Only 7 points separate the next four teams, as the competition to finish in the top four and secure a Champions League spot becomes severe.

In the bid to have a successful season, teams are relying on their attacking force to take them higher up in the table. In the 230 games played so far, 651 goals have been scored, at an average of 2.83 goals per game!

As such, today we take a look at the best 5 attacking trios of the Premier League this season. These players are among the top goal scorers of each of their clubs and have been the main source of goals for their teams this season.

Honourary Mention: With 22 goals among them, Chelsea's attacking trio of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Alvaro Morata miss out from this list.

#5 Paul Pogba - Anthony Martial - Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

Goals Scored - 24

The fact that Manchester United trio has pipped the Chelsea attack to be a part of this list shows how far United have come under Solskjaer. United have improved as a team, and are on a spectacular run of 7 wins in all competitions now.

The Red Devils have generally played with a front three of Martial, Rashford and Lingard under Solskjaer, while Lukaku has also been in the mix from the bench. Pogba has been orchestrating the attacking in a free role and this has helped United regain their goalscoring form.

All three of them have scored 8 goals each in the Premier League, and while Pogba and Rashford have done so in 20 appearances, Martial has reached those figures in 18 games.

It must also be mentioned that Romelu Lukaku is also on 8 goals in the Premier League, even though he has not been heavily involved in recent games. The fact that United already have 4 players on 8 goals now indicates that the Red Devils could get even better by the end of the season.

With 24 goals among them, the attacking trio of Pogba, Rashford and Martial is the 5th best in the league right now, but have all the ingredients to become the best by the end of the season.

#4 Alexandre Lacazette - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Arsenal)

Goals Scored - 26

Arsenal have been basking in the goalscoring exploits of their sensational new No. 14, who has been reminding everyone of the legend who used to wear the same shirt number.

Aubameyang has been sensational for Arsenal this season, and he has already scored 14 goals from 23 games in the Premier League this season. The Gabon International is currently second behind Mohamed Salah in the race to the Premier League Golden Boot and is expected to push the Egyptian until the end of the season for the top spot.

Alexandre Lacazette has ably supported his teammate in the goal scoring department, raking up 8 goals from 22 appearances in the league. The Frenchman's form in front of goal has been sporadic so far, but he has scored 2 goals in the last 3 Premier League games and is a vital component of Emery's system.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan's life at Arsenal has not turned out as well as he had expected, but the Armenian International had scored 4 goals from 14 appearances before picking up a metatarsal fracture in the middle of December. He is expected to stay out of action for almost 2 months, which is a big blow for the Gunners.

With 26 goals among them, the Arsenal trio is the 4th best-attacking unit in the Premier League this season.

#3 Heung-Min Son - Harry Kane - Lucas Moura (Tottenham Hotspur)

Goals Scored - 28

It is no surprise that a team with Harry Kane up front will be one of the most lethal attacking units in the Premier League, however, it is Heung-min Son who has been the star player for Tottenham of late.

The South Korean has now scored 8 goals from 17 appearances in the Premier League and has been particularly impressive of late. His combination with Harry Kane has been very promising for Spurs this season.

Apart from him, Lucas Moura has also contributed in front of goal for his club. The Brazilian has scored 6 goals from 19 appearances so far but is currently nursing a knee injury, which has seen him miss 5 games now.

Even though both Son and Moura have been good in front of goal, it is hard to look beyond Harry Kane at Tottenham. The Englishman has scored 14 goals from 22 games so far and is once again in the mix for the Golden Boot race. However, Kane tore his ligament in the game against United and is expected to be out for at least a fortnight.

Even though all of these three might be missing from action right now, they make up the third best-attacking force in the Premier League this season.

#2 Sergio Aguero - Leroy Sane - Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)

The Manchester City Bandwagon has continued its antics this season as well, already notching up 62 goals in 23 games in the Premier League so far.

While a lot of players have chipped in goals as usual - 7 players have scored 5 goals or more this season in the Premier League - the trio of Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling have been most effective in front of goal.

Aguero has now scored 10 goals from 19 appearances in the Premier League. He was out for 3 games with a groin injury, but since returning, has only managed 2 goals from 6 games.

Sane has 8 goals from 21 games now and after a lean patch in December, has recovered in January, scoring 2 goals from three games. The fact that he has also picked up 10 assists makes him very valuable for his team.

Sterling has 10 goals and 8 assists from 20 games so far in the Premier League and he is perhaps Guardiola's most potent weapon, even though he is also going through a drought of late.

Together, these three players have scored 28 goals among them and are the second best-attacking force in the Premier League so far this season.

#1 Mohamed Salah - Roberto Firmino - Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Goals Scored - 34

If Liverpool does go on to win the league, their defence will deserve as much credit as their front men, however, Jurgen Klopp does have the best attacking trio in the league this season.

The combination of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane has been scintillating on the pitch and the three of them have picked up 34 goals altogether so far!

Sadio Mane has 9 goals from 21 games so far, but his form has dipped a little of late. He has scored just 3 goals in his last 12 games. Roberto Firmino, on the other hand, has 9 goals from 23, and is on a fantastic run of form. The Brazilian has scored 5 goals in his last 4 games and is one of the most important pieces of Klopp's tactics.

However, the way that these two have combined with Liverpool's talismanic Egyptian has blown opponents away. Salah has now scored 16 goals from 23 games already this season and looks to have shed his "one season wonder" tag for good.

The Liverpool front three are the best-attacking trio in the Premier League this season so far.
