The Bundesliga continues to provide a platform for players to showcase themselves

The Bundesliga may not be the most popular league worldwide when compared to the likes of Premier League or La Liga but it is still a platform for quite a few talented players who showcase their talent and skills.

Some household names in the Premier League and La Liga had their big breaks in the Bundesliga. The German football scene is such that the younger players often get the opportunity to impress as the ownership rule doesn't allow clubs to spend massive money on star names, well, except Bayern perhaps.

So let's have a look at five Bundesliga players who have the talent to star in the Premier League.

#5 Philipp Max (Augsburg)

Philipp Max has been one of the emerging stars in Germany this season with 10 assists

Son of former German forward Martin Max, Philipp unlike is his father, is a left-back. He has also featured for Germany in the Olympics; Rio 2016 where they lost out to Brazil in the final on penalties.

This has been a breakthrough season for the 24-year old fullback. He has been pretty solid in defence but his main attribute is when he goes forward. He has made 18 appearances in the league and has mustered 9 assists so far.

Max's ability to consistently create openings for his teammates from the left-back position is pretty impressive. The 24-year old can also feature as a left wing-back or play as a left-sided midfielder if needed.

Big English clubs are reportedly interested in the defender, including the likes of Manchester City. Max can address some of Manchester City's problem surely as Pep Guardiola does not have an out and out left back for the injured Benjamin Mendy.

Pep has played Fabian Delph as a left back and the England international has not been disappointing but someone like Max can change the team's dimension and can give Pep more options to chose from as the Citizens will face tough challenges ahead in the season.

Chelsea also needs someone to give competition to their star left-back Marcos Alonso. The 27-year old has been sensational for the Blues but the season is long and Conte will love someone like Max on his team. Teams like Tottenham and Everton are also interested in the young left-back.

But Max's future is still in doubts as this emerging talent may stay in Germany. Things are not clear yet and only time will tell whether yet another talent from Bundesliga will make way to the Premier League or not.

#4 Julian Weigl

Sporting Clube de Portugal v Borussia Dortmund - UEFA Champions League
Julian Weigl is one of the brightest prospects in Germany

One of the rich prospects in Bundesliga is German defensive midfielder, Julian Weigl. At the age of 22 Weigl has proved that he is definitely one of the hot prospects in Germany. Weigl plies his trade for Borussia Dortmund as a defensive midfielder and can also feature as a centre midfielder if needed. His main attribute is he is a deep lying playmaker who tends to build the play from a deeper position in midfield. His defensive qualities are also impressive and his ability to make interceptions at a consistent rate allows his team to win the midfield battle against their opponents.

But his career has not been smooth, as the 22-year old has had some hiccups in form of injuries. His injury blows have been way too many in the past two seasons and his long-term absence this season has even affected Dortmund. But he is only 22 years old and he can get his career back on track.

With a pass success rate of 88%, Julian Weigl is definitely one of the brightest prospects in Germany. Manchester City's midfield has been one of the best this season and one of their unsung heroes is definitely Fernandinho. The Brazilian has been a revelation for City this season. So Pep is looking for a backup for Fernandinho as City lacks a player of similar dynamics to control the midfield from a deep midfield. Julian Weigl can be that player who can also be a competition for the Brazilian and can also take his place during his absence. Same for Manchester United they will be looking to replace someone like a Michael Carrick who is 36 years old and to fill in that void someone of Weigl's calibre will be perfect for the Red Devils. Only time will tell where the German midfielder will end up in future.

#3 Leon Bailey

Leon Bailey has been sensational for Bayer Leverkusen this season

The most emerging name in Bundesliga and world football is Bayer Leverkusen's young sensation, Leon Bailey. The 20-year old Jamaican winger has been in awesome form for Leverkusen. He has been a threat for any team in Bundesliga this season and with 6 goals and 4 assists, he has given them enough reasons to be threatened. He mainly plies his trade in the left wing but with the constant switching of wings with Julian Brandt he can also be a threat down the right-hand side.

His mazy runs, blistering pace and quick trickery leave defenders bamboozled. He has already shown the power of his left foot with the stunners he had scored and by looking at his potential it seems he can make it big in future. Although still in his initial days, Bailey has stepped up to every challenge thrown at him and hence future looks bright for the 20-year old.

Currently, a lot of Premier League sides have kept close tabs on him. The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City along with Arsenal are linked with the 20-year old emerging star. The current situation is pretty confusing regarding his future, Bailey can be a great player for Arsenal considering the fact that Sanchez will probably leave the Gunners soon. Bailey can nurture his skills even more at the Emirates.

#2 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

VfL Wolfsburg v Borussia Dortmund - Bundesliga
Aubameyang can be a great replacement for Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal

One of the deadliest goal scorers in recent times, Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang has made his name in Bundesliga. Aubameyang has been an integral part of the Dortmund side after Lewandowski's departure to Bayern. The 28-year old has shown that he is not only a pace merchant but also has a genuine eye for scoring goals.

He has scored 13 goals along with 3 assists in 15 appearances in the Bundesliga, in a season which have been claimed by critics as a pretty average one for the Gabon international. Dortmund has definitely underperformed this season but the talismanic forward has found the net time and again for them and he is not the one to be blamed for their poor performances this season.

Aubameyang recently has been linked with a move away from Signal Iduna Park and several clubs have stepped up to rope in the former African footballer of the year. He was linked with clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United. But now reports suggest that he may be making his move to China. Premier League club, Arsenal are also interested in the 28-year old forward. Reports also suggest that the Gunners may consider the Gabon international as Alexis Sanchez will depart in this transfer window. Moving to Arsenal may be a good option for both the player and the Gunners as Aubameyang is capable enough to fill in the void that will be left by Sanchez.

#1 Arturo Vidal

Arturo Vidal has been a vital cog in this Bayern side

The Chilean midfielder is certainly one of the best centre midfielders in the world. Vidal with his energy to move up and down the field makes his presence special for any club. The 30-year-old midfielder has been a vital cog for any manager he has played for since his time in Juventus. Vidal may have missed the chance to participate in this year's FIFA World Cup but his passion and dedication for this sport is second to none.

Vidal is sometimes criticised for his rash tackles and bad decision making. But he has emerged as a different player under returning manager Jupp Heynckes. With 5 goals and 2assists in 15 appearances in Bundesliga, Vidal has found a new dimension under Jupp's guidance. But with reports suggesting that Bayern is looking to sign German talent Leon Goretzka from Schalke, Vidal's future at Bayern remain in doubts.

Clubs like Internazionale and Chelsea are interested in the 30-year old midfielder. Chelsea has kept close tabs on him and the blues manager Antonio Conte wants him at Stamford Bridge. Vidal has played under Conte at Juventus where they won the Serie A title together for back to back 3 times. So uniting with his former manager will be a good move for the Chilean but current reports suggest that Bayern Manager Jupp Heynckes has no intention of selling Vidal. So in all probabilities future of Vidal is still in doubts and only time will tell where will he end up.
