Man City vs QPR - Premier League 2011/12
Sergio Aguero scores the famous late goal that gave City its first PL title

Manchester City came to this final encounter of the Premier League 2011-12 with just a single thought in mind - ' 3 points gives them the title'.

However, things were not so easy. Their neighbours - Manchester United were breathing down their necks. There was no margin for error for ' The Citizens'.

A little slip would mean that the Red Devils would run away with the coveted title.

Pablo Zabaleta scored in from close range in the 39th minute to give City the lead. Joleon Lescott's mistake in the backline hurt City as Djibril Cisse equalized with a low powerful shot.

A draw meant that Red Devils will win the title as they were winning against Sunderland giving them a 2-point lead on the top of the table. Joey Barton was sent off for a rash challenge of Tevez.

City instead of capitalizing on the advantage went further behind when Jamie Mackie headed home from a fine cross. The scenario meant City has to score 2 goals in 24 minutes for the title.

City suffered some poor luck when a close-range shot from Edin Dzeko hit the woodwork. Aguero and his team had to wait until the 92nd minute for the equalizer when Dzeko nodded in a David Silva corner.

With just 3 minutes of stoppage time to play, City still needed to score. The City fans were praying same as the United fans.

It was the 95th minute, Sergio Aguero received a pass from Mario Balotelli dribbled past a QPR man and hit a beautiful shot in the back of the net to propel Man City to its first league title in 44 years.
