Gordon Hodgson was one of the greatest South African players to ever play for the elite Reds from Merseyside. He has an incredible record of scoring 241 goals in 377 games across an 11-year career. Hodgson is #3 on the list for the greatest goalscoring players to have played for Liverpool.
He had a prolific goal-per-game ratio right up to 0.65 in the English First Division - a stat that works out to mean that he scored a goal in every sixth appearance for the Reds. And performances so impressive that the Liverpool Echo were once quoted saying,
