This has to go down as the best hat-trick Cristiano Ronaldo has ever scored in his entire career. A brilliant 40-yard free-kick, a trademark long-distance goal, and a penalty helped Ronaldo bag three against cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid.

The fixture was a big hurdle in Madrid's road to clinch the 32nd La Liga title. However, However, Ronaldo once again proved to be the perfect man in crucial games.

Ronaldo's trademark 40-yard free-kick left Belgian shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois rooted to the spot. Columbian poacher Radamel Falcao levelled the score with a header.
