Although their wages are not always in the limelight like the wages of star players, top managers do earn a handsome amount. Some of these wages even match the wages of top footballers. It's just a testimony to the intense work they do.

Although his side haven't impressed in recent seasons, no one can deny that Arsene Wenger is a Manager who has revolutionized football. After signing a contract extension in 2017, Wenger now earns £8.9 million per year at Arsenal.

The longest-serving manager in the Premier League currently; Wenger had coached French sides Nancy and AS Monaco before moving to Japan, overseeing Nagoya Grampus. After a short stint, however, the Frenchman was appointed as Arsenal coach.

The 68-year-old brought in a lot of success during the initial years, but that success dried up after Arsenal moved from Highbury to The Emirates. Now in his 21st season with the London club, Wenger will be looking to make the most of what could be his final years in management.

The 71-year-old has had a trophy-laden career, winning the UEFA Champions League, Serie A and La Liga. After disappointing stints with the national squads of England and Russia, the AC Milan legend joined the Chinese Super League, taking charge of Jiangsu Suning - in the hopes of restructuring his managerial career.

The Italian joined the Chinese giants in their worst period when they were hovering in the relegation zone after a poor run of form. He has failed to win any trophy at the club till now but has saved them from relegation. He will be looking to have a great season in 2018 with renewed hope

Jose Mourinho is undeniably one of the most controversial and most successful managers in football history. The Manchester United gaffer earns a reported £15 million per year basic salary minus the bonuses.

The Portuguese worked as an assistant manager at FC Porto and Barcelona before moving to Benfica in 2000. Mourinho came into the limelight after he led Porto to a Champions League title in 2004. This unprecedented success led him to bag the Chelsea job and the rest is history.

Mourinho got the Manchester United job in 2016 from the out-going Louis Van Gaal and recently signed a new contract until 2020 with an option to extend for one year. This reaffirmed that the board has faith in the former Real Madrid manager. Mourinho won the Europa League and League Cup title in his inaugural season and will be looking to add more trophies in future.

Guardiola was a well-recognized player for Barcelona and started his career in management with Barcelona's B side. After impressing there, he was appointed as the Barcelona manager and led them through their most successful era. He joined Manchester City in 2016 after a 3-year stint with Bayern Munich.

Guardiola took over the reigns from Manuel Pellegrini and endured a lacklustre first season. However, this season, City are in elite form and are expected to win the league. We can say that the Guardiola era is just beginning at Manchester City.

The other Italian on this list is the highest paid manager in football currently. Lippi has coached a host of teams over the years and earns £18 million per year with the Chinese national team.

The 69-year-old began his managerial career way back in 1982 with Sampdoria in the Italian league and has since coached the likes of Napoli, Juventus and Inter Milan before winning the World Cup with Italy in 2006.

The Champions League winning manager was appointed as the coach of China after impressing with Guangzhou Evergrande. China have had limited success in qualifying for the World Cup but have reached the AFC Asian Cup finals and will be hoping to give a strong showing.
