The Catalan giants are one of the most famous clubs in the world. The Blaugrana have won 25 La Liga titles, 5 UEFA Champions League titles, and many more in their rich and illustrious footballing history.

FC Barcelona, as its motto states, is 'more than a club'. For a large part if its 118 years of history, their players have caused fear in the minds of their opponents with some enthralling and destructive football.

However, they were on the receiving end on quite a few occasions. Some players took the game to them and played phenomenal football against Barcelona.

On that note, let's take a look at the players who humiliated Barcelona.

#5 Angel Di Maria (PSG)

This definitely was one of the worst UEFA Champions League nights in Barcelona history. It all happened in the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie at the Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain dominated the full 90 minutes at home as they swept away Luis Enrique’s Barcelona 4-0. Angel di Maria was brilliant on the night for PSG.

The Argentine international opened the scoring for PSG with a brilliant free-kick. Julian Draxler made it 2-0 and Di Maria scored his second in the 55th minute. Throughout the game, he troubled Barcelona back line with his pace and trickery. He was absolutely brilliant on the night and produced a scintillating performance.

#4 Nelson Valdez (Hercules)

The Catalan giants were undoubtedly the best club in the world during the 2009/10 season. They had won the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles during the 09/10 season. Also, quite a few members of their squad played a huge role in Spain’s 2010 World Cup triumph.

They played against the newly-promoted Hercules in a La Liga fixture in 2010. When everyone thought it could just be a walk in the park for the Blaugrana, the defending champions suffered a humiliating 2-0 defeat at the Camp Nou, their first La Liga defeat at home since May 2009.

Nelson Valdez was the star of the show for Hercules at the Camp Nou. He scored the opener in the 27th minute and made it 2-0 just before the hour. This was one of Barcelona’s worst defeats at home.

#3 Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich)

No Barcelona fan can forget this defeat anytime soon. The Catalan giants were thrashed 7-0 (aggregate score) in the UEFA Champions League semifinals 2012/13. This was one of Tito Vilanova‘s worst days as a Barcelona manager.

The German international, Thomas Muller, was the star of the show for Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. He opened the scoring in the 24th minute when he headed the ball past Victor Valdez from close range. Mario Gomez made it 2-0 right after the halftime. Arjen Robben piled on the misery as he scored Bayern’s third goal of the game in the 73rd minute.

Muller then made it 4-0 in the 82nd minute as he turned Alaba’s cross into the back of the net. It was a Man of the Match display from Muller, who destroyed Barcelona on the night.

#2 Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo)

This was one of Luis Enrique’s heaviest defeats in La Liga as Barcelona manager. Barcelona travelled to Balaidos on 23rd September 2015 to play Celta Vigo in an away La Liga fixture.

Both teams played some attacking football but Celta Vigo was sharp and full of energy. Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas gave a torrid time to Barcelona defenders Javier Mascherano and Gerard Pique. Nolito opened the scoring for the host and Aspas made it 3-0 with two wonderfully taken goals.

Though Barcelona pulled one back through Neymar in the 80th minute, John Guidetti restored their three-goal advantage to end the game 4-1. Iago Aspas produced an exceptional performance upfront as he totally dominated Barcelona.

#1 Ivan Zamorano (Real Madrid)

This list can't be complete without a Real Madrid player in it. Ivan Zamorano has played four full seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu and has scored more than 100 goals for Real Madrid. The Chilean striker has won La Liga and Copa del Rey titles with the Spanish giants.

During the 1994/95 season, Ivan Zamorano starred for Real Madrid in one of their best league wins over the arch-rivals Barcelona. He was ruthless upfront as he bagged a stunning first-half hat-trick to destroy Barcelona 5-0 at home. Michael Laudrup and Luis Enrique also shone for Real Madrid that evening.

It was a brutal display by Real Madrid and till date, it is one of Barcelona’s most humiliating El Clasico defeat.
