Tottenham Hotspur allowed Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose to leave this winter, but Mourinho did make a couple of signings of his own. Gedson Fernandes arrived from Benfica in an 18-month loan deal with an option to buy, but it was the arrival of Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven that had Spurs fans excited.

The Dutchman joined the Lilywhites on a permanent deal, signing a 5-and-a-half year contract and was immediately handed the No. 23 shirt vacated by the departure of Eriksen. Bergwijn arrived with a reputation; he was fast, he was skilful and he could score goals. In 146 appearances for PSV, the Dutchman had scored 31 times and had shown his abilities on the left side of the field.
At the Dutch side, Bergwijn was the star of the team, and after scoring in his debut for the Lilywhites, it is clear why Spurs paid £26m for the 21-year-old. The Dutchman was thrown amid the sharks by Mourinho, as the Portuguese named him in the starting eleven against Manchester City. Bergwijn responded by scoring with a fantastic volley to announce himself to the Spurs fans.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
