Top 5 transfers which could happen in January

The January transfer window has officially been opened and a month-long window would be a nice opportunity for many clubs to make a few signings to improve their squads. While a few deals which were left incomplete in the previous transfer window would be finished now, we can expect a lot of surprise transfers in January.

The competition at various leagues has been tight this season and hence, this window would be vital for most teams. A signing or two could make a huge difference to the fortunes of many top Europen clubs.

On the other hand, most managers do not prefer to make any major signings in this month, unless it is absolutely necessary. Therefore, it would be an interesting transfer window this time. West Ham has already announced the signing of Samir Nasri and that would set the tone for other clubs to follow. Also, Chelsea recently announced the signing of Pulisic from Dortmund.

On that note, we have compiled a list of possible transfers that could happen this month.

Adrien Rabiot to Barcelona

Adrien Rabiot is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain and the talented midfielder has multiple suitors across Europe. His creativity and the ability to create chances could be an asset to the team he signs for.

Barcelona lost Andres Iniesta at the beginning of this season and the likes of Busquets, Vidal, and Rakitic will need a backup very soon. Vidal was not signed as a long-term solution to Iniesta and Rakitic will be 31 in March.

Hence, Barcelona has identified Adrien Rabiot as a target for the January transfer window. Rabiot would be a good signing for Barcelona and apart from some competition from a few Premier League clubs, Barcelona need not worry anything else about the transfer.

The player himself is intent on moving to a big club and the fans at Barcelona can expect the youngster to wear the Barcelona shirt by the end of this month.

Cesc Fabregas to Monaco FC

After the arrival of Matteo Kovacic and Jorginho, opportunities have been limited to veteran midfielder Cesc Fabregas. Matteo Kovacic, Kante, and Jorginho have formed a formidable midfield partnership which the manager Maurizio Sarri has held on to in recent games.

Hence, Fabregas has started to look for a move elsewhere in search of more game time. The Spaniard has not played in France a move to Monaco FC has been gaining momentum in the past few days.

Aaron Ramsey to Juventus

Wales and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has just 6 months left on his contract and he has been permitted to talk to other clubs regarding a potential transfer. He has been linked to as many as five European giants but one club has been persistent in their pursuit.

Yet to be beaten Juventus are confident of landing the Welshman and Ramsey could be set for a move to Italy. Although Juventus has a bundle of talent in the midfield, they might look for more reinforcements and Ramsey could be a feasible option in the market.

They would face huge competition from other clubs but Ramsey's move to Juventus is likely to happen. Many Premier League clubs are also interested in Ramsey but Arsenal may be unwilling to sell him to a rival club. Hence, Aaron Ramsey could move to Italy after an 11-year-long stay in England.

Toby Alderwereild to Manchester United

Manchester failed to sign a central defender in the previous transfer window. It was their main priority and their transfer failure has led them to leak a lot of goals so far.

Hence, a defender would be a priority for United in the January transfer window. Toby Alderwereild almost signed for Manchester United in the previous transfer window before Tottenham Hotspur pulled out of the deal. However, the talks are set to resume this month and the Belgian could well secure his dream move to Old Trafford by the end of this month.

Toby is a strong towering presence at the back and can also double up as a full-back if needed. His attacking instincts suit well to current tactics of Manchester United and Toby would now be a perfect fit at United.

Manchester United would not mind selling a few of their defenders to make space for the Belgian.

Isco to Manchester City

However, Isco is now being linked with a number of top clubs across Europe.

Manchester City has just fallen behind Liverpool in the race for the Premier League and a few reinforcements are needed for them to get back on track. Manchester City has had to suffer from injuries to some of their important players in this season. With a tough few months ahead, Pep Guardiola has identified a few targets. Isco tops the list as the Spaniard will suit perfectly to Pep's tactics.

Isco is a good playmaker and scores plenty of goals too which would make a dangerous combination at Manchester City.
