The Norwegian had presided over a teenage Pogba at close quarters, when he was in charge of the Reserves Team at Manchester United more than a decade ago. As such, Solskjaer was aware of Pogba's qualities and the Frenchman has now repaid his manager's belief in him.
Pogba was the creative heart of the United midfield as usual in January, threading those long passes, finding his teammates and breaking down the opposition defenses. However, it is his goal scoring form that made him one of the most dangerous midfielders in the Premier League.

The Frenchman found the net 4 times in the new year from 7 games in all competitions. He also picked up 2 assists. Whenever United needed inspiration, Pogba stood up and took charge. He was crucial in the wins over Spurs and Leicester, setting up Marcus Rashford with inch-perfect long balls that tore the opposition defense.
The Frenchman now has 13 goals and 9 assists from 30 games so far this season, and at the start of February is 2nd in the race to the Manchester United Player of the Year Award.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
